


1. Preheat & Prepare:
o Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
o Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Blanch the Broccoli:
o Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
o Add broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
o Drain and immediately rinse under cold water or place in an ice bath to stop cooking.
3. Smash the Broccoli:
o Arrange broccoli on the prepared baking sheet.
o Use the bottom of a glass or a fork to gently press down each floret, flattening them slightly.
4. Season & Bake:
o Drizzle olive oil over smashed broccoli.
o Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
o Roast for 12-15 minutes until crispy and slightly golden.
5. Add Parmesan & Finish:
o Sprinkle Parmesan over the broccoli and return to the oven for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and slightly crisp.
o Drizzle with lemon juice if desired.
6. Serve & Enjoy!
o Serve hot as a side dish or snack.
